As a Senior Backend Engineer, Search, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing the search functionality of our platform. What you'll be doing 

• Designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems for our search functionality 
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand search requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions 
• Implementing efficient search algorithms and data structures to optimize search performance 
• Conducting performance analysis and optimization of search queries and indexing processes 
• Ensuring the security and integrity of search data and implementing relevant protocols
• Monitoring search performance and implementing proactive measures to maintain high availability and responsiveness 
• Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to maintain code quality and best practices 
• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers on backend development and search-related concepts 
• Staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends in search and backend development 

Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 
• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a focus on search functionality 
• Strong proficiency in backend development using languages such as Java, Python, or Go 
• C1/C2 English Level proficiency (both written and spoken English)  
• Deep understanding of search algorithms, data structures, and indexing techniques 
• Experience with search platforms and frameworks like Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene
• Familiarity with database systems and query optimization 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration abilities 
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment. 

Preferred candidates for this role are a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with a specialization in search functionality. They should have a proven track record in developing and optimizing search systems, leveraging their expertise in backend development and search algorithms. Experience with search platforms like Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene is highly valued. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment are key attributes we seek. 

We offer a full-time, US-hours remote job, 40-hour workweek Mon-Fri, with excellent prospects for long-term growth for an ambitious experienced Senior Backend Engineer, Search (Remote). We can offer HMO and other benefits to Philippine candidates.
