As a Lead Backend Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in leading and managing the development of robust and scalable backend systems. We are seeking a highly skilled individual with a solid technical background and proven leadership abilities. This role requires expertise in backend development, architecture design, and the ability to mentor and guide a team of engineers. 

What you'll be doing 

• Leading and managing a team of backend engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems 
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for new features and system enhancements 
• Designing and architecting scalable and high-performance backend solutions
• Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code in accordance with best practices and coding standards 
• Conducting code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency 
• Implementing and maintaining automated testing frameworks and practices 
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex backend issues 
• Monitoring and optimizing system performance and scalability
• Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in backend development 

Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 
• Proven experience as a Backend Software Engineer, with expertise in backend development and architecture design 
• C1/C2 English Level proficiency (both written and spoken English)
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js)
• Experience with backend frameworks and technologies (e.g., Spring, Django, Express) 
• Solid understanding of databases and data modeling (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) 
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) 
• Experience with RESTful API design and development 
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities 

Preferred candidates who have demonstrated leadership skills and have successfully led backend development projects. Experience with microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker), and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) will be highly valued. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is also desirable. Strong collaboration, mentoring, and team-building skills will be important qualities we seek in candidates. 

We offer a full-time, US-hours remote job, 40-hour workweek Mon-Fri, with excellent prospects for long-term growth for an ambitious experienced Lead Backend Software Engineer. We can offer HMO and other benefits to Philippine candidates.
