As a Data Engineering Manager, you will lead a remote team of data engineers and oversee the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure and systems. We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader with a strong background in data engineering and a proven track record of managing complex data projects. What you'll be doing 

• Leading and managing a team of data engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise 
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and drive data strategy 
• Designing and implementing scalable and reliable data pipelines and workflows
• Overseeing the collection, storage, and processing of data from various sources 
• Implementing data governance and data quality processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity 
• Identifying and implementing new technologies and tools to enhance data engineering capabilities 
• Monitoring and optimizing data infrastructure performance and scalability 
• Ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations
• Providing regular reporting and insights on data engineering projects and initiatives to stakeholders 

Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 
• Proven experience in data engineering, including data pipeline development and data integration 
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
• Experience with big data processing frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, or Flink 
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts 
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP 
• Excellent leadership and team management skills 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills 

Preferred candidates for this role are those who have prior experience in managing remote or distributed data engineering teams. Experience in implementing and optimizing data solutions on cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, is highly valued. Candidates with certifications in data engineering or related areas will be highly regarded.
