As a Software Engineer (COBOL Developer), you will be integral in designing, coding, and debugging applications in various COBOL languages. Your expertise will be vital in software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis. 

What you'll be doing 

• Designing and developing software applications in COBOL 
• Debugging and improving existing COBOL applications 
• Conducting system analysis to assess program performance
• Collaborating with team members to identify and fix software defects 
• Participating in software modeling and simulation 
• Front end graphical user interface design 
• Integrating software with existing systems 
• Evaluating and increasing software system effectiveness
• Maintaining systems by monitoring, identifying, and correcting software defects 

Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 
• C1/C2 English Level proficiency (both written and spoken English) 
• Proven experience as a COBOL Developer
• Strong understanding of COBOL languages 
• Familiarity with database systems, such as SQL and Oracle 
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail 

Preferred candidates are those who have strong analytical skills, are able to work in a team-oriented environment, and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates with additional experience in Agile methodologies will have an added advantage.
