As a Data Engineer Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our data engineering team in managing and optimizing data pipelines and systems. This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in data engineering and a willingness to learn. What you'll be doing 

• Assisting in the development and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes 
• Supporting data modeling and database design activities 
• Collaborating with the data engineering team to ensure data quality and integrity
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with data pipelines and systems 
• Participating in data governance and security initiatives 
• Assisting in the optimization and performance tuning of data systems 
• Conducting data analysis and generating reports as required 
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering
• Providing support to other team members as needed 

Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field 
• C1/C2 English Level proficiency (both written and spoken English)  
• Basic understanding of data engineering concepts and principles 
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Python or Java
• Familiarity with data manipulation and transformation tools 
• Knowledge of database management systems, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills 

Preferred candidates for this role are those who have prior experience or coursework in data engineering or a related field. Familiarity with big data technologies, cloud-based data platforms, or distributed computing frameworks will be highly valued. Candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting will stand out. We value individuals who are proactive, adaptable, and have a passion for working with data. 

We offer a full-time, US-hours remote job, 40-hour workweek Mon-Fri, with excellent prospects for long-term growth for an ambitious experienced Data Engineer Assistant. We can offer HMO and other benefits to Philippine candidates.
