As a Big Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our data team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems. Your expertise in big data technologies and programming languages will be essential in developing data pipelines and ETL processes to handle vast volumes of data. You'll collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data quality and availability for analysis and reporting. 

What you'll be doing 

• Designing and developing big data solutions using technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka 
• Building and maintaining data pipelines for data ingestion and processing 
• Implementing ETL processes to transform and cleanse data for analysis
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements 
• Optimizing data storage and retrieval for performance and scalability 
• Troubleshooting and debugging data-related issues 
• Ensuring data security and compliance with data governance policies 
• Monitoring data processing systems and performance
• Staying up-to-date with emerging big data technologies and best practices 

Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 
• C1/C2 English Level proficiency (both written and spoken English)  
• Proven work experience as a Big Data Engineer or in a similar role 
• Strong proficiency in big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark 
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala
• Experience with data modeling and database design 
• Familiarity with ETL tools and data integration processes 
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills 

Preferred candidates with a track record of successfully implementing and maintaining big data solutions. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a high level of innovation, adaptability, and a passion for working with complex data sets. Those with additional certifications in big data technologies and experience in cloud-based environments will be given preference. 

We offer a full-time, US-hours remote job, 40-hour workweek Mon-Fri, with excellent prospects for long-term growth for an ambitious experienced Big Data Engineer. We can offer HMO and other benefits to Philippine candidates.
